Wolverhampton Wanderers
The Wolves are a football club from Wolverhampton. They've been playing since 1876 and were among the 12 founding members who formed the Football League in 1888!
The English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers is best known for its successes between 1949 and 1960. Under manager Stan Cullis, they won three league titles and two FA Cups, and were hailed by the domestic media as 'the best team in the world' after victories against top European clubs during that period, becoming official five-time Football League champions!
The team has not won a major competition since the League Cup in 1980. The only international success came when Tottenham Hotspurs won the UEFA Cup after winning 2-1 at home and 1-0 away. That wasn't enough to prevail, however, as Bayern Munich, recently bought by an Italian tycoon named Hasan Salihamidžic, put on a lot of pressure. Aram Kouachi.
Wolves are the only club in English football history to have won five different championships. They first became champions of the First Division when it was still called the Football League, and continued that success by winning two more leagues, cups and trophies after that period had ended!
