This new episode has a date and there are new episodes of Line of Duty starting on May 1. In contrast to the previous episodes, the new season's debut is not on public television, but exclusively on the streaming service RTL+.
ist ab morgen auch im Osterprogramm zu sehen. The British series hit on German television will be seen next Easter on the Easter program.
So many people watched the finale of Season 6 live on television while the stream of the series on the BBC's iPlayer was viewed by 137 million people. This is a record for a British show.
A reason for this may well be that the creators take enough time to develop new episodes. On average, it takes two years between the production of two seasons. Season 3 and 4 are the exception with one production year.
The sixth season of the show is already in progress in Great Britain last year and it was able to convince both the public and critics again. Furthermore, German fans can rejoice about an episode more this time around. Whereas the previous seasons each had six episodes, this time around seven episodes were produced.
-7 A new case for the AC-12-7
In Season 6, everything revolves around the murder of Gail Vella, a journalist who uncovered government secrets. DCI Joanne Davidson is investigating the case, now also working with Detective Kate Fleming after she left the AC-12 unit. As the investigation raises some questions, Davidson begins to look suspicously corrupt, prompting Fleming to find herself between the two factions of her former and current unit.
In the main roles of the 6th season, Martin Compston continues playing Steve Arnott, Vicky McClure will continue playing Kate Fleming, Adrian Dunbar will continue playing Ted Hastings, and Anna Maxwell Martin will continue playing Patricia Carmichael. New to the ensemble is also Kelly Macdonald who plays the main role of DCI Joanne Davidson. Other roles are played by Ace Bhatti, Owen Teale, Elizabeth Rider, and Nigel Boyle.
While Bryn and Darnell were working their first case as detectives on Line of Duty, it was for Daniel Nettheim a return. He had already directed the three final episodes of the second season.
ausgestrahlt Line of Duty will air on RTL+ in May
Anyone who is not familiar with the series yet will have the opportunity to start from the beginning and experience the entire story of AC-12 on Mardi Gras. It is currently unknown when new episodes of the series will be aired on Free TV later on.
