In Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy there are still deals in place with Sky Pay-TV Service until 2025. German viewers may have to wait until then at the very least.

We have analyzed the offer carefully and will tell you what the streaming platform has in its pocket and what could happen in the future to HBO Max European customers.

At the moment, HBO Max is only available to German or European viewers through a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and a complicated workaround through an app store. This is set to change soon, however. As far as German viewers are concerned, it's still unclear whether they can see the program in its entirety.

Finally, there are still contracts for the broadcast rights to Sky TV, which is responsible for streaming HBO series like "Westworld" and "The Undoing" in Germany. This deal was renewed only in 2019. European viewers unfortunately won't be able to enjoy the announced films such as "Wonder Woman 1984", "Dune" and "Matrix 4" on the streaming service, as it will be possible for US viewers.

HBO Max makes the next evolutionary step and presents a much more extensive program, replacing most of the two older services. HBO Now remains as a standard on a few end devices.

The platform includes the vast library of the broadcaster with various film and series production. These can be accessed by customers at any time and so viewers can watch as many episodes or films as they want. In total, HBO Max users are granted 10,000 hours of entertainment.

Smart TVs made by Samsung, LG and Sony are also able to offer the service. Playstation 4 and Xbox One both support the service, but Playstation 5 is not yet available and the new Xbox offers the service. Amazon Fire TV also offers it.
